Some diners express disappointment with the busyness during peak times, especially Saturday evenings when the cafe reaches full capacity. This can result in longer wait times, but the staff does their best to accommodate everyone. A handful of customers mention that on occasion, certain dishes may run out, especially the daily specials, which can be frustrating for those eager to try the highlighted menu items. A few reviews note that while prices can be slightly higher than average for a chippy, the quality justifies the cost for many, though some seek more budget-friendly options. Parking can be limited during peak seasons, a common challenge along popular beach fronts.
Visited today whilst in the area. Immediately noticed the large array of homemade cake at the counter. Greeted by friendly staff who served us at the table. Decided on BLT, portion chips and Chicken bites and chips. Food was hot and plentiful in portion size (didnt really need chips to accompany BLT but they were lovely). Food was fresh and definately plenty of filling in sandwich. Staff polite and friendly and met a fellow "Chappers" working there aswell who obliged for a photo. Purchased cake to take away for later. Highly recommend and will be returning when back in the area.
Great cafe/bar overlooking Portreath Beach. The food has always been great, from both the bar and fish and chip shop. Good value for money with views! This day I had the chicken loaded fries, which was delicious and very good portion size. I had takeaway and sat overlooking the beach.
The fish and chips at this place was the best I’ve ever had period !! Came for a birthday afternoon dinner and although it’s more expensive than your standard fish and chip and place it’s more than value for money , the fish itself was fresh to death and the batter was crispy , the chips were fluffy in the inside and crunchy on the outside exactly what you want from a chip. With a beautiful backdrop of the beach and surrounding cliffs and harbour I would definitely recommend this for place to anyone.
Visited there today for lunch. My wife had the roast cod and chips whilst I had the battered cod and chips, both were excellent. The fish was well cooked, as were the chips. Normally I leave most of the batter, but here the batter itself was delicious even on its own,. If we are in the area again we would definitely revisit.
After a long coastal walk and a mishap planning lunch, I was very hungry walking into here but luckily the kitchen was still open for a short while so we were very grateful of this and an empty table! I absolutely enjoyed my chilli jam halloumi loaded fries and just what I needed. As my challenge for each day of this holiday was to eat an Easter themed cake each day (and it was Easter Sunday after all) I treated myself to the Creme Egg Caramel slice for dessert. Really good menu and plenty of choice for vegetarians and for children.
Well cared for flowers always a good sign, and my nose reliably told me this was a good one while cycling past, one of the best I've had, the fish especially, their batter is totally made to perfection with the fish also cooked spot on and very tasty cod. Thankyou, to the fish and Atlantic cafe bar. Plenty bikers love this place too, it's also in a very beautiful location, esp when the sun shines
Really nice food, the waiters and waitresses were cool and I really liked the decor! The live music was good aswell
